Leading environmental justice advocate Catherine Coleman Flowers provided insights for addressing the disproportionate impacts of inadequate waste and water sanitation infrastructure on America’s rural communities. She talked about how – with education, research, and ingenuity – we can make significant strides toward sanitation equity.

Following Flowers’s talk, an interdisciplinary panel of WSU faculty experts expanded on topics raised and related areas of WSU research, education, and engagement opportunities.

These free, public events are part of the 2021-22 Lane Lecture in Environmental Science presented by WSU’s School of the Environment.
