Charlene A. Carruthers is an award winning community organizer advocating for racial justice and youth leadership development. Carruthers is the National Director of the Black Youth Project 100, an activist organization dedicated to creating justice and freedom for all Black individuals. As one of Root 100’s top 10 most influential African Americans, Carruthers has written for several prominent news publications, been an advocate for immigrant rights, and worked to build solidarity between Black and Palestinian liberation movements.
